Breathwork

Stephen Monne_Adem en stem-0556What is breathing exactly? What is its purpose? What happens to you?

Optimal breathing has a restorative effect on symptoms such as hyperventilation, asthma, bronchitis, headaches/migraines, back pain, insomnia, depression, concentration problems and chronic exhaustion.

It can also help if you (frequently) find yourself dealing with negative convictions, blocked emotions, an incapacity to express yourself, condemnation of yourself and others, relationship problems, difficulty allowing your feelings to be, the incapacity to have fun, unresolved anger and fear.

Changing your breath and deepening your awareness of how you breathe can increase your energy and vitality, while making you happier, more content and more self-aware, thus allowing you to live a fuller life, coming from a place of innate strength and power. In short, working with the breath can help you become you again—with all the innate qualities and gifts that belong to you! The way I see it, breathing properly is how one says yes(!) to life. Restricted breathing is equal to restricted living.

Even though breathing is something all of us do every day to stay alive, it almost always occurs unconsciously. It is only when one starts to experience real physical discomfort that one becomes aware of the breath. Perhaps your breathing is incomplete, too shallow, irregular, or too rushed on the inbreath. Your breath is a representation of where you presently are in life. Are you stressed? Living life at an unsustainably high pace? Finding yourself falling short in certain areas of your life? How you breathe reveals the patterns of your life, since we modify the breath in order not to genuinely feel.

This might sound outrageous, given our cultural norm of long-term psychiatric and psychological treatment trajectories, but one single breathing session can already have a life-changing impact. Breathing therapy has been effectively employed in relation to the following themes:

  • Stressminimalism-desert-jar-of-hearts-desert-magic-hd-wallpaper-
  • Depression
  • Fear of living fully
  • Extreme fear(s)
  • Fear of dying
  • Negativity
  • Burnout
  • Social fears/phobias
  • Asthma
  • Allergies
  • Trauma processing
  • Nightmares
  • Lacking vitality
  • Stored, unprocessed emotions
  • Fear of failure
  • Self-esteem issues

During the first breathing session, I will observe and analyse your breath, revealing the patterns causing blockages/obstructions in your life (which can at times even feel suffocating). Follow-up sessions will reveal what changing your breathing pattern can do for you, helping you to experience genuine spaciousness and freedom in your life (sometimes in as little as a single session).

I look forward to meeting you in my breathing practice, where your consciousness and specific themes take centre stage. An exceptional opportunity to experience what your unique breath can do for you, and to move your life into a new direction.

Session rate: €95.

Session duration: 1.5 – 2 hours.
